After a one-year break, the IFA Fistball World Tour will make its comeback in 2026 – featuring a restructured and forward-looking concept. The Board of the International Fistball Association (IFA) has approved the proposal developed by the World Tour working group, which serves as the foundation for the Tour’s relaunch. The aim is to make the international club competition series more attractive, structured, and valuable. Since its inception in 2018, the IFA Fistball World Tour has been a central element of international club fistball. Its 2025 edition was paused to thoroughly revise the format, organization, and benefits for both teams and hosts. The outcome of this process is a clear, practical concept set to be implemented in 2026.
Strengthening the Club Fistball Structure
With its return next year, the IFA aims to establish the World Tour as a long-term, global club format. Both the participating teams and the hosting tournaments are set to benefit from this new structure, which is designed to make the World Tour a prestigious platform for clubs while providing additional visibility for host events.
“To gather as many insights as possible, we conducted a survey among former tournament organizers and participating teams,” explains IFA President Gastão Englert, who took over the leadership of the World Tour in 2024 and headed the working group responsible for its continuation. “We want to sincerely thank everyone for their valuable input, which played a major role in shaping the new World Tour concept.” The results of the survey were the true structural basis for the construction of the new WT, used by a working group consisting of representatives from former tournament hosts across all three categories, teams, athletes, and members of the former World Tour Commission to finalize the new framework.
Adjusted Tournament Categories and Regulations
The IFA Fistball World Tour 2026 will continue to feature three categories – though with adjusted significance: IFA 1000 (old Major), IFA 600, and IFA 350. “Our intention was to narrow the gap between the three categories and highlight the importance of all levels,” says Englert. Another key change is that all results achieved by teams will now fully count towards the official World Ranking. The former “best five results” system is no longer in place: from now on, participants will earn points for every event they compete in — the more events they enter, the more points they accumulate. The top four teams at the end of the season will directly qualify for the Club World Cup the following year.
According to the New WT working group, these adjustments directly reflect the feedback gathered from teams and organizers. Many had emphasized that commitment and season-long participation should be rewarded more consistently – the more a team contributes to the World Tour, the greater its opportunity to succeed. The new framework also aims to ensure fairness by preventing “guest star” lineups, in which non-registered players join a team for a single tournament just to influence rankings. World Tour points will now be awarded exclusively to officially registered teams. In addition, while any club can apply to host a World Tour event, IFA 1000 and IFA 600 tournaments will require formal approval from the IFA World Tour Commission to guarantee quality standards and balanced regional distribution.
The season will run from February 16 to November 30. Tournaments with limited entry slots must give registration priority to officially registered World Tour teams. The principle of “first come, first serve” applies. Players may only be registered for one club per season, and each team must submit a signed player list to the IFA World Tour Delegate no later than 24 hours before the tournament begins – with no subsequent changes allowed. Points will only be awarded to registered World Tour teams; if a non-registered team participates, its points will be passed on to the next registered team in the ranking.
Purpose of the Changes
The restructuring aims to make World Tour management processes more efficient and to enhance the value of the tournaments. At the same time, the new concept strengthens the role of tournament organizers, whose events will now officially be positioned as part of the global club competition structure.
“The goal is to establish the IFA Fistball World Tour as a professionally organized, attractive format for teams, organizers, and fans worldwide,” emphasizes the New WT working group. Registrations for tournament hosts and participating teams for the IFA Fistball World Tour 2026 will open later in 2025. The International Fistball Association will publish further information, including the Competition Rules, in the coming weeks.

Ziel ist es, die Tour attraktiver, strukturierter und wertvoller zu gestalten. Seit ihrer Einführung 2018 ist die IFA World Tour ein zentraler Bestandteil des internationalen Vereinsfaustballs. Die Saison 2025 wurde bewusst ausgesetzt, um das Format, die Organisation und den Nutzen für Teams und Ausrichter grundlegend zu überarbeiten. Das Ergebnis ist ein klares, praxisnahes Konzept, das ab 2026 umgesetzt wird.
Stärkung der Vereinsstruktur im Faustball
Mit ihrer Rückkehr im kommenden Jahr verfolgt die IFA das Ziel, die World Tour langfristig als globales Vereinsformat zu etablieren. Sowohl teilnehmende Teams als auch ausrichtende Turniere sollen von der neuen Struktur profitieren, die die Tour zu einer prestigeträchtigen Plattform für Vereine machen und gleichzeitig die Sichtbarkeit der Veranstaltungen erhöhen soll.
„Um möglichst viele Rückmeldungen zu erhalten, haben wir eine Umfrage unter ehemaligen Turnierveranstaltern und teilnehmenden Teams durchgeführt“, erklärt IFA-Präsident Gastão Englert, der 2024 die Leitung der World Tour übernommen und die zuständige Arbeitsgruppe geleitet hat. „Wir möchten uns herzlich bei allen für ihre wertvollen Beiträge bedanken – sie hatten großen Einfluss auf die Gestaltung des neuen World-Tour-Konzepts.“ Die Ergebnisse dieser Umfrage bildeten die strukturelle Basis für die Ausarbeitung des neuen Formats, an der Vertreter früherer Turnierausrichter aller drei Kategorien, Teams, Athleten und Mitglieder der ehemaligen World Tour-Kommission beteiligt waren.
Angepasste Turnierkategorien und Regularien
Auch 2026 wird die IFA Faustball World Tour mit drei Kategorien ausgetragen – deren Bedeutung jedoch neu gewichtet wurde: IFA 1000 (bisher Major), IFA 600 und IFA 350. „Unser Ziel war es, die Unterschiede zwischen den drei Ebenen zu verringern und die Bedeutung aller Kategorien zu betonen“, sagt Englert. Eine der zentralen Änderungen betrifft die Punktewertung: Künftig zählen alle von einem Team erzielten Ergebnisse vollständig für die Weltrangliste. Das bisherige System der „besten fünf Ergebnisse“ entfällt. Stattdessen erhalten Teams für jedes Turnier, an dem sie teilnehmen, Punkte – je häufiger sie antreten, desto mehr Punkte können sie sammeln. Die vier besten Teams am Saisonende qualifizieren sich direkt für die Klub-Weltmeisterschaft des Folgejahres.
Wie die Arbeitsgruppe zur neuen World Tour betont, spiegeln diese Anpassungen direkt das Feedback der Teams und Veranstalter wider. Viele hätten den Wunsch geäußert, dass kontinuierliche Teilnahme und Engagement stärker belohnt werden. Außerdem soll das neue Regelwerk Fairness schaffen und verhindern, dass kurzfristig zusammengestellte „Star-Teams“ mit nicht registrierten Spielern in einzelnen Turnieren antreten, um anderen Punkte wegzunehmen. World-Tour-Punkte werden künftig ausschließlich an offiziell registrierte Teams vergeben. Grundsätzlich kann jeder Verein ein Turnier der World Tour ausrichten; für die Kategorien IFA 1000 und IFA 600 ist jedoch eine Genehmigung der World Tour-Kommission erforderlich, um Qualitätsstandards und eine ausgewogene regionale Verteilung sicherzustellen.
Ziele der Neustrukturierung
Mit der Überarbeitung soll die Organisation der World Tour effizienter und die Wertigkeit der Turniere weiter gesteigert werden. Gleichzeitig stärkt das neue Konzept die Rolle der Veranstalter, deren Turniere künftig offiziell Teil der globalen Vereinswettkampfstruktur sind.
„Unser Ziel ist es, die IFA Faustball World Tour als professionell organisiertes und attraktives Format für Teams, Organisatoren und Fans weltweit zu etablieren“, betont die New WT-Arbeitsgruppe.
