On Saturday, July 18, the DSG UKJ Froschberg (AUT) hosted the Leondinger Open. The international fistball tournament featured top-level competition and welcomed teams from Austria and Brazil—as well as the Austrian women’s national team—in both the women’s and men’s competitions.
Despite several rain showers in the afternoon, the tournament was held as scheduled and was a success. The numerous spectators enjoyed an exciting Saturday of fistball with many thrilling matches and high-level rallies.
In the women’s competition, the Austrian national team prevailed over the team from Union Compact Freistadt (AUT) in the final to claim the tournament title. The hosts, DSG UKJ Froschberg, also put in a spirited performance and ultimately finished in 6th place. The young team from SOGIPA (BRA) finished 5th place.

In the men’s competition, FBC Linz AG Urfahr (AUT) was crowned tournament champion. In the final, the team from Linz prevailed over the local heroes of DSG UKJ Froschberg to claim the title. The bronze medal went to the team from Union Compact Freistadt (AUT) which secured 3rd place with a strong tournament performance.The brazilian team from SOGIPA (BRA) secured 5th place.

The Leondinger Open thus offered a high-scoring and varied weekend for the Austrian and Brazilian teams.
